4. What is the greatest lesson you gained from Alpha Kappa Psi?
Alpha Kappa Psi has taught me the virtues of what I live by in the working world. These are the things I’ve experienced almost everyday as a part of the fraternity either as an active or as a pledge. The lessons brought me: patience, tolerance, leadership, building upon your strengths and working on your weaknesses.
5. What is your greatest memory as an active of Alpha Kappa Psi?
The last day of my active semester at Alpha Kappa Psi was truly an awe-inspiring moment, knowing that I’ve been through the fraternity for all four years of my college career and seeing the torch passed from one generation to another. This memory serves a notice that the fraternity constantly brings in the best and brightest.

1. Why did you join Alpha Kappa Psi
I was a Political Science major my freshman year at SC, and I had been thinking about switching to business for quite some time. I wanted to learn more about the business world so that I could see whether or not business was a good fit for me. By joining AKPsi, I not only realized that it was a good fit, but that I could not see myself with any other major.
2. Where do you currently work and what is your position?
I work at the Pacific Sunwear Corporate office in Anaheim, CA. I am an accessories store planner in the demo stores division.
3. When did you pledge Alpha Kappa Psi?
I pledged in the second semester of my freshman year, Spring 2004. Never down!
4. What is the greatest lesson you gained from Alpha Kappa Psi?
That it is okay to ask for help sometimes. I am one of those people that tries to do everything myself. I learned through brotherhood that I cannot do everything by myself and that I had a network of actives as well as alumni who were willing to assist me in any way if need be. In a sense, I gradually learned the true meaning of brotherhood.
5. What is your greatest memory as an active of Alpha Kappa Psi?
On a professional level, my greatest memory was meeting Mr. Warren Buffett, hands down. He is such a powerful man, yet somehow he remains grounded. I respect him so much more now having had the opportunity to meet with him. It was truly an honor. My other fondest memories are times spent together simply relaxing at the house getting to know each other better. They always say that a true friendship is in full bloom when you can have a blast with someone while doing absolutely nothing. I would definitely agree.
6. How has the Alpha Kappa Psi network paid off for you?
It has paid off tremendously. You get out of AKPsi what you put into it. I put in 3 and a half years of dedication and hard work, and I received a lot in return, including developing socially and as a leader. Aside from that, I gained several brothers over the years that I would not have even known had I not joined. My brothers mean so much more to me than they will ever know. I have found true that most join for the general idea of the organization, but they stay for the people.
7. Could you summarize your experience as an Alpha Kappa Psi active in one sentence?
Single-handedly shaped my college experience...and college was the best time of my life.

1. Why did you join Alpha Kappa Psi?
Like most members, I joined in hopes that I would get more involved on campus. I was a business major, but I didn’t know what I wanted to do with that degree. I also figured, it’d be a good way to meet people who were in the same classes I was taking.
2. Where do you currently work and what is your position?
I am in a rotational Management Development Program at Kraft Foods, currently in my first rotation as a Sales Representative.

In Spring 2004, as a freshman.
4. What is the greatest lesson you gained from Alpha Kappa Psi?
I truly learned how important networking is to your career and through the Alpha Kappa Psi network I gained exposure to the countless career opportunities that are available to Marshall students.
5. What is your greatest memory as an active of Alpha Kappa Psi?
I loved all the social events that we’ve held. I always looked forward to the retreats. We would rent out a nice vacation home in Palm Springs and spend the weekend swimming, partying, and bonding as a brotherhood.
6. How has the Alpha Kappa Psi network paid off for you?
While in Alpha Kappa Psi, I made life long friends and took advantage of once in a lifetime opportunities such as going to Nebraska to meet Warren Buffett and getting more involved in Marshall trips such as study abroad in Europe and the winter trip to Beijing. Furthermore, AKPsi helped me obtain my current job through fellow alumni. As a result, some of my co-workers are also my AKPsi brothers.

1. Why did you join Alpha Kappa Psi?
I joined Alpha Kappa Psi because I was looking to make friends as well as to learn more about the different types of occupations and concentrations under business. The best memory as an active is probably bonding with my brothers at the Palm Springs Active Retreat, as well as all the small family gatherings that I had with my family (Bad Boys!!)
6. How has the Alpha Kappa Psi network paid off for you?
It is because of the Alpha Kappa Psi network that I got my first internship at a major corporation. That internship in turn has helped me tremendously in obtaining the job that I have now.
